Astropol and Colourpol are a hit at K2016

Astropol has always operated within the PVC sector of the plastics industry, supplying bespoke colour and additive masterbatches to UK and export clients. Now the recently established division of Colourpol is an investment and diversification into the manufacture of colour and additive masterbatches for other thermoplastics, which has created some exciting new opportunities for the company both at home and abroad.

Attendance at K2016 was a great way to present the bespoke masterbatch capabilities of both Astropol and Colourpol to a worldwide audience. With great support from the BPF, the event ensured a stream of positive enquiries from existing and new international clients. “K2016 was a fantastic experience for us,” says MD Chris Wright. “We were able to engage with existing clients and so many new potential partners who were interested in what we can offer. We are really looking forward to following up on the various leads obtained, and are thrilled by their potential.”

Astropol and Colourpol are at K2016 in Dusseldorf!

K2016 is the major highlight exhibition featuring the interests of the plastic and plastic associate industries worldwide. To be held this October (19th -25th), it provides an important forum for companies to introduce new products and exchange information on new techniques in materials and machinery – both in theory and in practice! Also it is a ‘must-be-at event’ to engage with clients and parties interested in plastics from around the world.

Not only will Astropol be in Germany this October exhibiting at the show, but the new division of Colourpol will also be present. Both divisions have chosen to attend this high profile event with the BPF in order to extend their opportunities to introduce their bespoke masterbatches – PVC based in the case of Astropol, and more diverse polymers in the case of Colourpol – to a wider audience. Managing Director Chris Wright says, “Our attendance at K2016 is yet another positive investment in our future. I am really looking forward to establishing what extra business we can create for our growing companies. Our masterbatches are proving to be products that clients want. The aim is to offer them to a wider audience through our presence at K2016.”

Sales support role for Astropol and Colourpol

The respective demand for these masterbatch additive brands is growing; PVC based in the case of Astropol and general based polymers for Colourpol. Based in Hindley Green, Lancashire, the Astropol and Colourpol teams have recognised that a sales support function is a vital element needed to maintain all round service levels. The role includes office based contact with clients to ensure either test work or ongoing supplies are on schedule. Back-up communications with the Technical Sales Directors in the field means a fast response can be arranged for any client lead situation that may arise.

Managing Director Chris Wright says, “For some time now we have been assessing the demand for internal customer service support within the business. As we moved into 2017 it was obvious that the business growth needed such a professional resource. Not only does it help our existing UK trade, but also our expanding international activities. I am really pleased to have filled this post within our business. It’s another positive step along our planned business development path.”

More good news from Astropol!

Whilst Astropol has for many years become a proven brand leader and expert in the field of PVC based colour masterbatch production, Colourpol has been established to enable this experience to be used in a much wider context. Colourpol is offering colour masterbatches for an extended range of polymers including Polyolefins, Polyesters, Styrenics and other Engineering Polymers.

Managing Director Chris Wright says ‘that this is the natural next step for Astropol to diversify into non PVC markets and applications.  Since importantly, this opportunity not only opens new market areas for the business, but also positively supports Astropol’s existing customer base, as many established clients also extrude a range of polymers in addition to their PVC offering.’

Colourpol masterbatch products are manufactured in the UK from new plant based at the Astropol site in Hindley Green Lancashire. Director of Technical Sales, Martin Kirkham believes that the opportunities for Colourpol are exciting and offer a new level of support & service to the masterbatch market, as new clients are already making enquiries about sampling and the bespoke on-site trialing service – a traditional focussed service established by Astropol.

Enquires can be directed to sales@colourpol.co.uk – a new website for Colourpol is under construction.

This is all part of the company’s readiness to look beyond the shores of the UK for new clients – either agents and/or distributors. Regular enquiries from abroad are enabling the company to explore new areas, as news of its bespoke PVC masterbatch colour pigments reaches more and more users.

Chris Wright (Managing Director) and Nigel Smith (Sales Director) will be at the show for 4 days. They plan to introduce Astropol to potential new clients who are looking for quality colour masterbatch pigments and additives based on the Astropol PVC carrier system.

Astropol has over 20 years of technical experience in the supply of bespoke colour masterbatches, and their attendance at this exhibition is a signal that the business is ready to support not just their UK clients, but also new partners overseas.
